Nürburgring Explosion Leaves 22 Injured

Chaotic Start to Endurance Series

Multiple Injuries Reported

A compressed air bottle exploded in the paddock area of the Nürburgring race track in western Germany on Friday, injuring 22 people. The explosion occurred during the Nürburgring Endurance Series, which had already seen a six-car crash earlier in the day.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

The explosion is the latest in a series of safety concerns at the Nürburgring. In 2015, a driver was killed during a race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, one of the most dangerous race tracks in the world.

The Nürburgring is one of the most famous race tracks in the world and has hosted Formula One races since 1951. The track is also used for other motorsport events, including the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world.
